    This is not an exact or exhaustive list, but merely a GUIDELINE.

    Manufacturer Example Codes Explanation
    Aftermarket E9, CA / CE, EEC, Catcon, Eurokat Any of these codes is an aftermarket.
    AC / GM / Vauxhall GM45, GM88, GM127, 90573852 GM code and 2 or 3 numbers or on some units an 8 digit long number starting with 9. DO NOT use code that uses a combination of numbers and letters approx. 6 digits long e.g. 0820F7.
    Alfa Romeo / Fiat 60652863, 60652866 8 digit code.
    BMW 1716614, 7793773 Main long code usually starting with a 1 or 7.
    Citroen / Peugeot PSAK145, K202, K085 PSAK or just K followed by 2 or 3 numbers.
    Ford / FoMoCo = Ford Motor Company
    Also use for Jaguar and Aston Martin.    		 88VB5E242BB, 97AB5E212BA, 2S715E212CB, 95AB5E211AH, 6C115E211KC *DO NOT USE T2A1A* Use main long code usually starting in 2 numbers and 2 letters and ending in 2 letters. If unit has no codes on then it may be on the case that is not present and will be classed as NSC*.
    Honda 6XFB0092, 6YCB0029, V9KC14E8J, 9ZAJ1268 Usually NSC* or will have a varied combination of letters and numbers approx. 8 characters long.
    Hyundai / Kia BJH12, HAA20, JSH34 5 or 6 digit code that has a combination of letters and numbers.
    Land Rover KAT118, KAT002, KAT020 KAT and then 2 or 3 numbers.
    Land Rover (Bosal) ESR1434, ESR3496 ESR and then 4 numbers.
    Mazda BFC5, FE6C, RFY1, RFJ5 Very thin / faint code on the edge of the unit. Use the first 4 digits to price; codes are a combination of letters and numbers.
    Mercedes KT6011, KT0048, KT0103, A2114905814 KT and then 4 numbers or an A code, usually 11 digits long.
    Mitsubishi 2S, EM, AY, 3E *DUPLICATE SHORT CODE FOR QUICK SEARCH EG: 2S = 2S2S OR EM = EMEM 2 digit codes can be letters or numbers. Can be usually found placed in middle of unit on case.
    Nissan X3, X6, JH07AX, JD38EM, AU605 Usually faint codes on the body of the unit or NSC*.
    Renault C199, C89, C66, C109, 1127, 8200356609 C and then 2 or 3 numbers or an 8-10 digit code that begins 1127 or 8200.
    Rover KAT020, KAT008, 104600, 103200 KAT and then 2 or 3 numbers, some have 6 digit code.
    SAAB 9331406, 3392437 Use 7 digit code similar to Volvo
    Sevel D189, 8658 D and 3 numbers or a 4 number code.
    Smart KT0124, KT0331 KT and then 4 numbers similar to Mercedes
    Suzuki 65D-C02, 65J-C01 6 digit code with a hyphen in the middle.
    Toyota AB2, GD7, T88, 26040, ORO10 *DUPLICATE SHORT CODE FOR QUICK SEARCH EG: AB2 = AB2AB2 OR GD7 = GD7GD7 2 letters and a number or a letter and 2 numbers, can also be a 5 digit code.
    Volvo 6842354 Holland 7 digit code and country of origin.
    VW / Audi ACB JD, ACL DD, WWO Germany, ADG DD, 1J0 131701 5 letter code, or 11 digit long codes starting in 1J0 131 and ending in two letters, sometimes with WWO Germany before the code.
